You're doing important work—your brand and communications should reflect that. I partner with established and growing mission-driven organizations to sharpen their strategy, elevate their design, and build campaigns that inspire donors, volunteers, and communities to show up. Whether it's an appeal, a capital campaign, or a full brand refresh, I bring the creative strategy to help you raise more and reach further.
You have a bold idea and a mission worth fighting for—now you need a brand that earns trust from day one. I work with early-stage impact organizations to build clear identities, compelling narratives, and design systems that can grow with them. From pitch decks to launch campaigns, I help founders translate their vision into something the world can see and believe in. The early days move fast, and first impressions stick. I help you show up looking like the organization you're becoming, not the one you're still figuring out.
Spotlighted mission-driven projects

I collaborate with organizations defining who they are, what they stand for, and how to express it visually and verbally—building brands that earn lasting trust. Whether you need a compelling annual appeal, a major capital campaign that inspires transformational giving, or a full brand refresh that finally reflects who you've become, I bring strategic thinking and hands-on design together in one place. Every project starts with understanding your mission and ends with something your community will remember.
Your event is an extension of your organization—and one of your most powerful opportunities to deepen relationships with donors, partners, and community. I design cohesive event experiences from concept to execution: themes that feel intentional, environmental graphics that set the mood, print and digital collateral that ties it all together, and on-the-day materials that make guests feel the weight of the mission. From intimate donor dinners to large-scale galas and community celebrations, the details make the difference.
Your website is often the first impression and the last stop before someone decides to give, volunteer, or engage. I design and build custom Squarespace websites that reflect your brand, tell your story clearly, guide visitors toward the actions that matter most, and evolve with you. This includes all the training your team needs to update and manage it. Why Squarespace? Check out my journal entry Why Your Non-Profit Should Be Using Squarespace.
Michael is a mild-mannered quiet man, but his design work is anything but! Michael brought a fresh eye to every project we worked on.
— Gregory J.
He is clearly an expert in his field. He understood the project and requirements very quickly and turned around prototypes in just few days. I highly recommend Michael.
— Gregory Z.
His meetings were casual and he was genuinely interested in the ideas I wanted to convey. Its great working with someone who does the research and has the creativity to create a design that is impactful.

Michael's organizational skills and quality of work are outstanding, and he garnered the respect of everyone around him.

I start with listening. Understanding your mission, audience, and goals before any creative work begins.
Together we define the creative strategy—the "why" that guides every decision and keeps work aligned with your mission.
Hands-on creative work grounded in the strategy. Transparent, iterative, and built for real-world use.
I stay engaged through launch and measure what matters—so every project makes the next one better.
I am passionate about design, and ethical AI, but the most important things in my life are my family and giving back to the community.
I’ve been fortunate and have experienced lots in my life; from living around the country, traveling doing service projects with Americorps, leading the construction of homes in the south and Mexico with Habitat for Humanity, to being a teacher in the Peace Corps all while creating and learning.
I’ve come full circle and moved back to my rural hometown, and time is still in short supply. From my creative, to family, to always learning something new, to wanting to take a walk in the woods. I should have a better presence on social media, but there are more important things in life now, sorry Instagram.

I explore the intersection of creativity, strategy, and technology offering insights and practical tips to amplify your impact.
I’m working on a balance between the things that make me happy: family, design, and giving back. Like most people I only have 24 hours a day, that doesn’t leave time for everything, sorry Facebook.
